Best race I've seen since Brazil 2012. Phenomenal throughout, all the way down the pack.

Yeah, not clever in the slightest.

I'm holding out judgement until I see an in-car shot from him though. Judging by the angle that Gutierrez entered the corner, he may have only come into Maldonado's view at the last second.

I mean, it's still his responsibility not to hit the car ahead, but there may be mitigating circumstances.

Agreed. The Merc battle was truly epic. Some of the best racing in years. Now if we could just get a couple more teams to the front, though that's unlikely to happen any time soon if at all. Montezemolo's reaction when Force India passed Ferrari was priceless. I can't believe heads haven't rolled in that team. It's embarrassing.

thouroughly enjoyed it start to finish. I just hope the 1-2 games isn't that massive all season

I'd love to see Hamilton and Rosberg this close all season. As a Hamilton fan I'd probably age a year per race, but it'd so damn exciting :)

I do hope that Red Bull get something put together though. Every year I hope for a Hamilton/Vettel battle royale, but every year so far it hasn't happened.

I'm sure I gained a grey or two those last few laps myself. As for Red Bull, I could give a crap about Vettel, I just love the way Ricciardo seems to be out racing him every time. He's had some bad luck, but just by going off of the actually racing, Ricciardo seems to fighting for that #1 driver spot.

As much fun as it is to blame Maldonado for everything, I really think Gutierrez was more than partially responsible. It looked like he drastically cut-down mid-turn.

What's irritating me most is Matchett and Buxton blaming the nose of the Lotus for flipping the car, it's obvious the wheels came together and "Indy flipped" the car. There wasn't a single piece of bodywork involved and it happens with open wheeled cars, it's what's known as a fact of life...

I do love how Ricciardo's come out really well. If Red Bull pull it together, I expect to see him right up the front as well.

Shocking Montezemolo hasn't made any indication publicly that there will be changes within the team if the situation doesn't change. If it's the same story this year as in other years where they never really advance the car, I don't see how they can allow the status quo to continue.

Alonso looks simply tired of dealing with it. Honda and McLaren together with a boat load of cash might be very tempting if he and Ron Dennis can come to terms and work together again for next season.

"Ricciardo is faster than you let him by" or whatever it exactly was that they said to Vettel literally made me gasp/squeal out loud. Not that I want to see Vettel lose per se, but I do want to see him be challenged. Also, how can you not like Ricciardo, guy can never stop smiling.

Also, someone ask Massa how it feels to be faster than Alonso.

True that, the Lotus even came out with nose... noses, intact. I don't see how a two pronged nose would have much more "flip effect" than a single pronged nose.

I've wondered about that myself. Furthermore on the topic of the low noses possibly "submarining" under another car, at least i that case the driver typically at fault is the on in greater danger unlike the high noses of years passed... Grosjean into/over Alonso anyone?

A year ago I'd echo that sentiment, but after seeing Vettel in person at the British Grand Prix I just can't. He's just such a nice bloke, funny too.

I really don't mind him winning races. Just as long as it's not another championship :)

All I know is that, besides looking ridiculous, the penis noses prove to be even less safe, Bernie will look like (even more) of a major idiot, so I doubt they'll ever admit to anything.

I'm sure he isn't satan's spawn, but his radio transmissions and on track antics just leave a sour taste in my mouth
